Forming Direction

Here is another finished painting!

Painting everyday this month has been great for many reasons. For one, painting everyday has allowed me to have multiple canvases with wet paint in various stages in drying. It is amazing how differently a painting can take shape in one stage of drying vs another.

Also, my painting style is forming direction. Since many of my abstract paintings end up looking like a landscape or seascape anyway, I figured why fight it. I am now using photos of all different kinds of scapes when I paint. The colors in this painting is inspired by colors found around Gull Lake Michigan, during the summer. 40” x 16” Oil on Canvas.
