We are in mid September now and the Summer art business was far greater than expected! I sold out of all my new paintings at all three art fairs I did. I have completed many Commissioned Paintings. And the commissions keep rolling in (thank you everyone! You are Amazing!)
My current inventory of paintings (along with some paintings borrowed back from clients) has been on display the past two months for Art Hop, Downtown Kalamazoo. Cherry Tree Financial hosted my artwork for the month of August. Webster’s Prime is currently hosting my work for the month of September on the second floor of the Radison Hotel.
I don’t currently have any more shows scheduled for the rest of 2017. It may be too late to get into anything now, but I would like to get into at least one holiday show, if I am able to crank out enough inventory.
I’m currently putting the finishing touches on the McBride commission, which is a 48”x24” piece that will be #20 of the Northern Lights Series. I have also started on a 40”x16” commission that will be #21 of the series. Furthermore I started on a 48”x30” commission that with be an impressionistic version of the Sydney Oprah House.
I’m hoping to spend some of the remaining time in 2017 doing some small studies to help me decide what my next abstract series will be (so many ideas!) I plan on getting some inspiration from the landscapes of places we will be traveling to soon. We are taking a family trip out to Denver next weekend to visit some dear friends. Then traveling out to Dallas at the beginning of November for a wedding. Also going out to Phoenix for Thanksgiving, or “Friendsgiving” as we call it. Not to mention, Fall in Michigan is starting to show it’s glory (my favorite time of the year!)
