It has been way too long since my last blog post! But I would like to make a go at making this blog a bit more of a regular thing to keep some of my collectors and followers up to date, who are not on social media.
Where to begin? How about with the most recent exciting news?!
I just completed a massive, 140’ x 23’ mural of an elephant herd, for ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, MI. Here is what I have to say about the mural…
Charging Forward by Bradley Goff The last year has been remarkable. It has tested us each and every day. We have battled, literally fighting for our lives. In all of this, one thing has been clear—our ability to charge forward is limitless. We are strong, resilient, and compassionate. We feel great joy, anger, and even sorrow. We have all had to embrace the world as an elephant would—with strength, wisdom, honor, joy, and compassion. The Charging Forward mural celebrates humanity and our innate ability to overcome.
This mural pushed me to my limits and forced me to dig down to levels I didn’t know I had in me. The mural has certainly changed my life and taught me many lessons along the way. Whenever I have self doubt in the future, I can look back at this mural and remember what I am capable of.
I will be forever great full to everyone who made this possible. Specifically my wife, Jenn. Her positivity and encouragement throughout the process drove me forward. She also took over all my usual household and life responsibilities, including our 7 year old Son, Archer. Thanks Babe! You are amazing!
Also the overwhelming community support. Thank you Grand Rapids for your thousand of car honks, great conversations, free West Side swag, and offers to help in any way.
ArtPrize starts today, and runs through October 3, 2021. Hopefully some of you get a chance to come out to Grand Rapids and see the city transformed into an artistic masterpiece. My mural is a permanent installment. And can be found on the west wall of the Oliver Healthcare Packaging building, located at 445 6th St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504.
In other news… I put my art career on the back burner during 2020 and the first half of 2021 to focus on our 7 year old. His school district was fully virtual from March 2020 to May of 2021. So we were joined at the hip for the year, making the production of artwork and running a business a struggle to say the least. However, looking back, I wouldn’t trade our bonding time together for anything.
I was able to do two art fairs this past summer. The Grand Haven Art Festival, and the Traverse City, Crooked Tree Art Fair. At the first of the shows, the Grand Haven show, I had my best show ever, and nearly sold out of all my artwork. This was great, but didn’t leave much to show for the Traverse City show. Now that things seem to be in full swing again, I should have plenty of time to create new inventory over the winter for next years shows. In-between working on commissions.
I am currently starting in on a 48”x48” elephant commission that I am very excited about! After that, I have a list of other commissions I will be working on, and should keep me busy through the beginning of next year.
My next public art display will be at Perrin Brewery in Grand Rapids. My work will be on display there for the month of December as their featured artist.
I display most of my new work on my Instagram Page (Link at bottom of web page.)
Also, check out my YouTube channel if you get a chance! Link at bottom of website page. I will be continuing to chronicle my life as an artist. For some reason, I just really love making these videos, even if no one watches them!
Thank so much for reading!!!
